Sedona, AZ – A Sedona artist is bringing big city ideas to the local art scene and beyond. Fine artist Lisa Peterson Love is blending technology and art in her solo art exhibit and talk on Intuitive Energy Photography™.
“As a marketing and branding consultant, I had to keep up with the latest information technology and used Quick Response Code for my corporate clients,” says Peterson Love. “In my career as a fine artist, I realize how valuable QRC is to art collectors. It can help collectors keep track of art provenance and help collectors and artists stay in touch.”
A Quick Response Codes is a two-dimensional bar code that stores addresses, contact information and URL’s. Quick Response Codes originated in Japan and have been used there since the mid 90s. Their use spread to Europe and now they are being used in the US market. Peterson Love attaches a QCR code to every work of fine art that she creates.
Peterson Love was looking for a way to connect personally to visitors and art collectors when she was not physically in the art galleries that are exhibiting her work. QCR enables that to happen. Collectors and viewers can scan the QCR code with their cell phones and immediately be connected to her artist blog that features videos, photos and text.
“When I directly communicate to people about my artwork, they connect with my art on a deeper level. They gain a greater understanding about the art piece they are viewing.” says Peterson Love.
Collectors of Peterson Love’s artwork are located across the globe and this technology brings them one step closer to the artist. Peterson Love has been using the technology over the last few months, linking the collector to stories about the creation of her artwork and video clips of Peterson Love creating the work. The QR Codes are placed on the back Peterson Love’s artwork, so the collector can access the latest blog articles or video of the piece at any time.
Artist Lisa Peterson Love is taking the QR Technology one step further and incorporating it at the gallery level in her upcoming exhibit. “After the opening reception, people will be able to scan the QR code and have quick access to me talking about my work when I am not in the gallery”, says Peterson Love.
To use Quick Response Technology your camera phone needs to be equipped with a QR Reader. The QR reader is an application that is downloaded off the internet onto your camera phone and is very intuitive to use. Once your camera phone has the appropriate QR reader, simply point your camera phone at the QR Code, click the scan option, and you're all set. Within a few seconds, the application delivers the unique content directly to your phone.
QR Code Technology connects printed information to the web. QR Codes are currently used in advertising, print media, movies, video games and in manufacturing and now in the arts.
